"Kelly..."
by Faith Reynado
...my least favorite WOD of all CrossFit WODs, but perhaps also the most symbolic of my passion for CrossFit.
For any of you who saw me work out that day, the second part of that sentence probably comes as a surprise. The only thing I looked passionate about that day was wanting to quit, and wanting to quit I did. Though I never said it out loud, my body was screaming for a tap out. But a few things happened at the end of the workout that I will always carry with me, that only fuels my addiction for the sport of fitness and that keeps me coming back for more...
I remember that near the end of the 4th round of Kelly, the music playlist was transitioning between songs, and all I could hear was the heaviness of my own breath and my own mind telling me to quit. Then, I looked up and saw about 10 of my fellow Crossfitters. Though most of them had finished their own workout, they didn't pack up their things and head to their next errand or stick to their own routine in the corner of the room. They circled my box, cheering me on and urging me to do just five more box jumps, five more wall balls...I started the 400m run of the last round and I couldn't believe that I was still moving, even at the snail's pace it was =)

Workout of The Day
Pull-up/Dumbell Thruster Running Clock
(created by OPT)
With a continuously running clock do one DB Thruster (M: 25lbs,W: 15lbs) the first minute, two pull-ups the second minute, three DB Thrusters the third minute, four pull-ups the fourth minute... continuing as long as you are able.
Post minutes achieved and reps to comments.

WOD:
13Rounds + 9 Pullups (35#DB).
Chills and scars let me know I'm alive too. Like the chills that went up my body when I saw "death by..." on the board this morning.

I will never forget that workout....it was the first one to drop me to the floor and I didn't even do the Rx'd workout. I give Faith props for being such a fighter through that brutal WOD. She showed so much heart in that workout I just had to run with her and cheer her on. Faith, you Rock!

Faith, you're always the first one to support any of us when we need it, so of course we'll all be there to return the favor when you need it!
17 rounds + 16 pull ups (wh-band)
I so should have gotten those last 2 pull ups to complete the round...next time.

FP, I feel you on Kelly: in the fourth and fifth rounds I had to stop during the runs because I couldn't breath (and you thought i was a runner!). While doing the box jumps in the fifth round, I remember telling Colin, "My body is falling apart". It is certainly a weird WOD, just thank science that they haven't programmed Eva yet. Yikes if they do, it looks worse than Murph!
16 rounds + 13 thrusters (Rx'd)

Faith,
Your post is amazing and it was absolutely incredible to witness. It was such an incredible sight when the guys started running with you. I knew what was going through your head but we all knew you could do it! You were saying before the workout that you hate "Kelly" but now i'll bet you have a very special place reserved for her in your heart!

Ya Faith!! Loved your post, and I agree with Alex, you are always cheering us all on. Everyone just wanted to give back some crossfit love! You stuck with that one and ended up with a huge PR. Way to go!!!

Faith, you're awesome! Like everyone has said, we will always be there cheering you on like you do for us. I still can't believe that you had a 15 minute PR on Kelly (well I can believe it, it's just so amazing to see that progress!).
